I started in doll photography when my friend Amy sent me a picture she took of a Barbie doll. Amy is a professional photographer. She shoots products and flower arrangements. The picture she sent to my cell phone was the doll in a pose.

So, I thought it would be fun to send back some doll pictures to her but I had no dolls. Then one day I went to a toy show and bought a Monster High doll. I liked how the arms moved much better than Barbie’s arms did.

I wanted my pictures that I sent back Amy to be good. But in what way? So, I started learning more about my camera and composition. It became fun for me. Even finding doll accessories and doll furniture was enjoyable.

The dolls developed personality and a sense of girl power. In the above picture you can see Nina talking to Jordan about this monolith they discovered. They like world travels and archaeology. Offscreen is Hailey and Bree with the Jeep.

Finally creating dioramas out of foam took me to another level. My first foam project was the granite plaza flooring in that picture.

It’s a passion of mine now because I was happy how the photography came out.
